Us: How crazy and over-the-top do you want to go? Director: yes. In the traditional 'Stephen Chow' style, this comedic, chaotic, and reminiscent Chinese New Year product commercial goes crazy. Supporting Grim's director and his vision for this commercial, we created and animated flying mahjong pieces in an intense over the top battle between the protagonist and antagonist, as one falls, the other rises in glory.
Comedic, Chaotic CG Elements
To support Grim Film's comedic and chaotic live-action commercial, we spiced up the game of mahjong with chaotic and 'impossible' flying mahjong pieces that turns into an actual battle. With a tight timeline and limited resources, we had to be creative, both literally and figuratively. Each battle scene was carefully thought out and directed during filming, whilst adapting our simulation and animation along the post-production process.
Product Commercial with a Twist
'Stephen Chow' inspired, infused and a homage. It's not your typical product commercial; it's a comedic and chaotic storyline infused with the Chinese New Year culture. Catching viewers off-guard, it's also a dynamic showdown that pulls us into the action. We were aiming to create an immersive, memorable scene that elevates the audience's viewing experience, which the team proudly did.
